Player Descriptions
Ryan Ritch -- President and Armorer
Ryan can be called the founder of the club in Wytheville, although this is open to some dispute. If you dispute it with him much, however, he can simply say that you can not use his equipment, which takes in almost all of it. He purchased the first set about six years ago, and has been steadily adding to his collection ever since. His playing style changes, sometimes very quickly, and this variation makes him a rather unpredictable opponent. With the advent of his new gun, however, his style has begun to swing toward long-range combat, at which few can successfully challenge him.
Erik Ritch -- Vice President and Researcher
Erik is the head researcher in the club, and is the one who will soon be able to vie for the position of true founder of the club (particularly since he is the one who made the web page). He has spent the past year or so developing new, advanced weaponry which is far superior to anything the club has previously had access to. His favorite weapon is the gun that he built, which, due to its telescopic sights, is the best long-range gun. This is quite fortunate as he tends to hide and slowly reduce the opposing team to the state of being tagged out.
Zac Page
While the picture may not do the man justice, it effectively portrays the player. Zac is one of our best players, and besides Ryan and Erik, has been playing longer than anyone else. He excells at close combat with overwhelming odds, often taking on multiple players and coming out unscathed. He has a very agressive, high energy style of playing. The only thing people usually see of him is the yellow flash of his gun and the pounding of his shoes as he tags them out and zooms on to his next victim.
Calvin Shook
Calvin is another one of the club's best players. He and Zac have been playing longer than any other players, save Erik and Ryan Ritch. Like Erik, Calvin usually perfers to hide and let his enemies come to him rather than finding them himself. It is usually always Calvin who manages to find that perfect hiding from which to blast his enemies while they blindly wander around trying to find him.
Elizabeth White -- Poet and Minstral
Although Elizabeth is one of the newer entries to the club's ranks, she is certainly the most enthuastic. To quote Yoda, "Much to learn you still have. But strong you have become." Somehow, she managed to get Erik to make her a gun, even though she probably was not next on his list. Although Elizabeth has not really been playing long enough to develop her own unique playing style, she tends to favor attacks and charges. She is just now pulling out of a slump caused by her new gun, which requires considerably more skill to wield effectively. And she is starting to last noticeably longer in the games.
Douglas Hogan
Douglas is also a newer entry to the club's ranks. Douglas is a fairly well-balanced player, although he prefers defensive playing. He can usually be counted on to give a fairly good account of himself during most situations. Unfortunately, he has not played enough to be able to finely hone his instinct about what to do and when to do it. He is pictured here with his favorite gun, the noisy cricket.
Julie Slater
Julie is the newest edition to the club. Julie, too, has not really been playing long enough to develop her own playing style. She is slowly beginning to appreciate the finer points of the game, and as such is improving noticably. (In other words, she is beyond the mere target stage.) More about her will be said when there is more to be said.
Brandy Page
Brandy does not usually play with us except for during our large events. As a result, she does not have too much experience. When she started playing, we had to address her on some of her policies, such as standing back to back with other players and covering her front sensor, thus making herself invincible. In the last major event in which she played, she seriously revamped her playing style, and did exceptionally well for how little she has played. (This last problem will hopefully be fixed in the near future.) Actually, some people who had been counting on her invincible tactics to win their games started grumbling and saying that she was getting killed too easily. If this criticizm is justified (which is doubtful), it will most certainly diminish as she continues to play. All in all, she is both an interesting person and player.
Stephen Beaver
Stephen is rather a distinguished member of our club. He holds the honorary position of being the first individual other than the V.P. to construct a homemade gun. He was also the first person to program the reset and MaxiBlast signals into his guns. As many people have been finding out recently, long range engagements are both more realistic and more fun than short range blasting matches. Stephen seems to be studying this art very well. And he has adopted an excellent mentor for this purpose, that is, our esteemed president (who is decidedly a master of this art).
Andrew Beaver
Andrew is Stephen's younger brother. He is most well know for his "no-aim super-blaster." This is a pistol that his brother made for him, but overpowered slightly. This was discovered in its first game of play as he proceeded to tag basically everyone (both on and off his team) out in very short order. Needless to say, the gun's power was subsequently reduced considerably! He has not yet developed a distinctive playing style.
Kristen Ritch
No picture yet available
Kristen is here by popular request. As with other people, she hasn't played enough to really have developed a particular style. However, a gun for her to use more permanately is probably on the way since she seems to playing. Not a whole lot more can be said. This will be updated when there IS more to be said.
