My PC is on Fire!! (re-done)
I'm afraid you're in for a rather long history on this one. In case you didn't know, on May 18, 2006 Elephants Dream "the world's first open movie, made entirely with open source graphics software such as Blender, and with all production files freely available to use however you please, under a Creative Commons license (http://orange.blender.org/)" was released. In case you haven't watched it already, it is probably worth watching, if for nothing other than for obscure quotes. For a while, after watching it, all was good.
Well, the story continues on June 28, 2006, when 'roschler' released a Creative Commons remix of Elephants Dream set to a parody of Numa Ye. The remix (called My PC is on Fire) is available at http://www.spokenring.com/numa-numa-english.php and is a great watch, particularly so if you have watched Elephants Dream. Well, the Numa Ye parody was great as it was making fun of the flaming Dell laptops. Not being a particular fan of Dell (or Microsoft either), I loved the parody. (Oh, and if you are one of the few who hasn't seen Gary's original Numa Numa Dance, head over to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UCmo31FNpc and watch it.) After watching this remix, things were once more very good.
As the days and weeks stretched on from June 28, a discontentment began to settle on me. The song My PC is on Fire was so good it called out for a music video. Well, the Elephants Dream remix version was good, but it lacked something. So, on December 21, 2006 I called a meeting of the staff of Simplified Productions and Finite Minds Limited to rectify this gaping hole in internet culture. The result was this music video that I hope you, and many like you, will enjoy.
As usual, I will recommend using VLC player (available at http://www.videolan.org/) for viewing this video. The downloadable version is an XVid compressed AVI at 320x240 resolution with 128kbs mp3 audo. The streaming version is available from YouTube.
